Axis Turns

News item: North Korea, arguably the world's most oppressive and xenophobic country, has just announced it has nuclear weapons. Does anyone still doubt that the president was right in bringing the "axis of evil" to our attention?

if anything, the "axil of evil" comment did nothing but light a fire under north korea to either re-instigate or, at least, speed things up with their nuclear (or as W. would say nu-que-lar) weapons program. you shouldn't be so sure of yourself that the chicken came before the egg.

and while your patting dubya on the back for his handling of north korea, then maybe you should consider asking yourself why his administration won't have face to face talks with north korea to speed up the process of peace keeping. if he is a follower of Jesus, he's called to be quick to listen, be a peacemaker, love his enemies. so for bush to deny north koreas request to discuss the issue seems a bit unlike the attitude of the man that he claims to follow.

i assume you are a christian by your writing for such ground breaking theological publications such as "chrisitianity today"....so please explain your boy's policy for those of us who like to see just a few similarities between a follower of Jesus and Jesus himself.
