The Senate is gearing up to control smoking, a nasty and disgusting habit, even more than before. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) notes, rightly, that many young people become addicted before they are old enough to make responsible decisions concerning their health. Perhaps it's time to outlaw smoking, instead of taxing it to fund bigger government.
The Democrats are the same party, of course, that advocates an "anything goes" approach to sex and abortion for teens, without any parental oversight. So why is teen smoking morally evil while premarital sex (associated with pregnancy out of wedlock, venereal disease, emotional devastation, poverty) is morally neutral?
